Selsa was a devoted Catholic, member of La Parroquia de Lares Puerto Rico. She loved her church and her bible. She participated in various women's prayer groups. She prayed the rosary every night and enjoyed reading the bible. She participated in various bible study groups and was proud to have completed a one year bible course.

Inocencia Carrion Torres (Selsa) passed away peacefully Saturday morning Feburary 27, 2016. She was born on July 28, 1935 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. She moved with her family to Lorain, Ohio. Later, she moved back to Puerto Rico with her husband and children.
Selsa was a devoted Catholic, member of La Parroquia de Lares Puerto Rico. She loved her church and her bible. She participated in various women's prayer groups. She prayed the rosary every night and enjoyed reading the bible. She participated in various bible study groups and was proud to have completed a one year bible course.
Selsa worked outside her home in various businesses as a sales person. She was able to obtain her high school diploma by completing her GED and she was very proud of completing the course "Curso de Vendedor General Merdadeo".
Selsa loved her family, friends and her neighbors. She is survived by her husband Jorge Perez; her children, Trini (Aguadilla Puerto Rico), David (Chicago, IL), MaryLou (Gainesville, FL), Piri (Arecibo, Puerto Rico) and Maribel (Aguadilla, Puerto Rico; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her brothers Domingo, Felix, Luis; her sisters Ernesta (Tita), Joaquina (Quini), Felisa (Cita), Regina (Regi), Isabel (Isabelita) and Maria (Conchi). She was preceded in death by her parents: Hermogenes and Pilar Carrion-Torres, brother Yoli, Genaro, Felipe (Pito) and her sister Paulita.
Selsa loved to exercise and eat healthy. She was known in the town of Lares for her daily walks. She organized a group of friends who would get up faithfully at 5am five days a week and walk for one hour. She loved to read and participated in health courses for Diabetes. She was fashionable but humble. She never left home without her red lipstick. She loved her Carrion family dearly. She loved to joke and always saw the bright things in life. She was always there to help others.
The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, March 1, 2016 from 1pm-8pm at Funeraria La Santa Cruz, Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. Ther interment will follow at Cementerio Veterano Aguadilla, Puerto Rico March 2, 2016 at 1:00pm. Closing prayers will be led by Sister Joaquina Carrion.
