David Louthan
1981-11-18 2023-03-30
On Thursday, March 30, 2023, David Gene Louthan, loving son, brother, and uncle, passed away at the age of 41. David was born on November 18, 1981 in Elyria, Ohio to Margarita “Margie” and Douglas Louthan.
David is survived by his mother, Margarita Coleman; his stepfather, David Coleman; his father, Douglas Louthan; his stepmother, Freeda Louthan; his brothers: Paul (Hope) Louthan and Michael (Alyssa) Leal; nieces: Isabel and Aubrey Louthan; step-siblings; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins who are too numerous to name.
He graduated from Lexington High School in 2000. He attended The Ohio State University to pursue a mechanical engineering degree after high school. He would later attend North Central State College to pursue a degree in nursing.
David had a passion for animals, soccer, basketball, family, and friends.
He was known for his kind heart, quick wit, his bright smile, and compassion for anyone needing his help.
His love and kindness were on full display as he donated many hours of time assisting the State School for the Blind in Columbus, OH and caring for his late grandmother, Martha Garcia Carrion.
David was also an avid music lover of all old school rap music and hip-hop poetry.
Here is one of his favorite poems by the late artist Tupac Shakur.
In The Event Of My Demise, by Tupac Shakur
"In the event of my Demise
when my heart can beat no more
I Hope I Die For A Principle
or A Belief that I had Lived 4
I will die Before My Time
Because I feel the shadow's Depth
so much I wanted 2 accomplish
before I reached my Death
I have come 2 grips with the possibility
and wiped the last tear from My eyes
I Loved All who were Positive
In the event of my Demise"
David meant more to the people who love him than he ever completely understood. Those who love him find comfort that one day we will be reunited and remind him how much he meant to us all.
